Who are The Extremists?

Governments declare wars, but they don’t fight them. People do. What do you know about the people your government has declared war on? What do they hope? What are they afraid of? What do they think of you? Fear is a powerful motivator. It also is a frequent tool of war and wartime propaganda.

What is The Extremists?

The Extremists, a documentary project by Khalid Qadir, seeks to go beyond the headlines and scare tactics and introduce civilians on the Pakistan/Afghanistan border to civilians in the United States.

 

Afghanistan has been at war for three generations. The United States is only the latest in a long line of aggressors. If there is to be any hope for peace in the region, it is important for the people of both nations to understand how alike they are and engage in real discussion.

 

Who knows? Perhaps the people can discover solutions that governments have been unable to find, and truly win the hearts and minds of those hell-bent to destroy us — on both sides.
